Our Story
Where It All Began
Little Owls Playschool was born from a simple belief: that the early years matter deeply, and every child deserves a nurturing space to grow, explore, and develop their unique potential.
We created Little Owls to be the kind of playschool we wished existed for our own children — small enough that every child is truly known, warm enough that it feels like a second home, and stimulating enough that curiosity flourishes naturally.
Based in the heart of Kirstenhof, Cape Town, we welcome toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years into our little owl family.

What We Believe
Our approach is built on research, experience, and a deep respect for childhood.
Emotional Safety Comes First
We understand that children are still so little. At the start of the year especially, many children naturally gravitate toward a particular adult, and we honour that need for comfort, security, and connection. Emotional safety is the foundation upon which all learning is built.
Mixed-Age Play is Intentional
We spend the majority of the day as one group — playing, creating art, and taking part in shared activities. Mixed-age play is deeply valuable at this age. Older children naturally develop confidence and early leadership skills, while younger children learn through observation, imitation, and interaction with their peers.
Learning Through Play
We strive to create a warm and stimulating environment where learning is fun. We engage in activities that promote children's curiosity and awareness. Every game, every art project, every outdoor adventure is an opportunity to learn and grow.
